Essentially, the need to be "born again" and "transformed" come from the fact that the race you belong too rejected the authority of God and you function as a physical being raised up to depend on your 5 senses - seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting. Your behaviors and words are based on reactions to your environment.

You were given the ability to function according to God's design, not the environment of this world or your reactions to it. However, God is a Spirit and so to engage in relationship you need to be born into the spirit realm, not just the physical realm you are used to. Only then can you begin to think and act like a 'child of God' - according to His direction and instruction for successful and abundant living (which we find written out in the Bible.)

Living life as a Christ follower is not something you can describe to others easily. It is a little like trying to describe that water is wet to somebody that has not experienced what 'wet' actually is.

Going from a purely physical being to a being functioning as a spirit you need to be reborn by accepting Jesus as your Savior - or rescuer. This simple heartfelt act of submission to Jesus as Lord over your life causes a spiritual awakening deep inside you. As previously stated, this is not easy to describe to another person, so accept this free gift of eternal life and start living now as Jesus lived.

The process of transformation is an ongoing activity that retrains your whole being to learn how God intended for you to live and 'unlearn' the habits of a lifetime. This is the journey you are now on!
